Shitot for zmanim (halachic times)

Kaluach3 does not work with a default shita. Instead, for each location in your user location list, you need to specify which shita is used. A shita is chosen for each location, and each location can have a different shita. This allows travellers to set up different cities that might have different shitot.The current location is displayed on the status bar to let the user know how the times are being calculated.

To assign a shita to a location, go to "options->locations->edit or delete", select the location from the list, and then select the shita to be used for that location.

built-in shitot

Kaluach comes with several built-in shitot. These are shitot that are commonly used by a number of communities and should cover many (or most) cases. If one of these shitot is not suitable for your community, then you can create a custom shita.

If none of the built-in shitot are appropriate for your community, you can create your own custom shita. You can either create a new shita from scratch, or copy one of the built-in shitot to use as a starting point.

To create a new shita, go to the "custom shitot zmanim" options page and click "new". This will open up the shita dialog box allowing you to create a shita of your own. You will need to provide all of the details for your new shita before saving.

To use an existing shita as a basis for your new shita, select the shita that comes closest to your needs. Then click "copy" and a new shita "copy of ..." will appear in the list of shitot. Select this shita and click "modify". This will open up the shita dialog box allowing you to modify the new shita. Using one of the built-in shitot as a starting point simplifies your task by providing all of the options already defined. You only need to modify the settings that are relevant for your shita.

The built-in shitot cannot be modified - you need to either create a new shita, or copy an existing one in order to create your own custom shita. After selecting the shita that you want to modify, if the "modify" button is not enabled, the shita cannot be modifed - that is, it's a built-in shita. If you want to modify a built-in shita, you need to first copy it and assign it a name that you want. Then select the newly created shita and modify it as described above.

Select a shita from the list and click "view" to display the details of the option. You can click "modify" to both view and modify the settings for the selected shita.

To delete one of the custom shitot, select the shita to be deleted from the list and click "delete". You will be asked to verify this action, and if you answer "yes", the shita will be deleted. Built-in shitot cannot be deleted. If you select a built-in shita, the "delete" button will not be enabled.
